Fundraiser a watershed event

Dear Editor:

As executive director of the Roaring Fork Conservancy I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to all the sponsors, supporters, participants and volunteers who made our recent fundraising event, the River Rendezvous, a huge success. Funds from this event support our programs in education, land conservation and easements, field programs, water quality and community outreach throughout the entire valley.

Other critical studies will benefit from these events, including the Fryingpan/Roaring Fork Rivers Fishery Study, providing a biological baseline for river health, conducted by Miller Ecological Consultants; expanded involvement in watershed issues and the coordination of a stormwater runoff evaluation for the city of Glenwood Springs.

Without this financial support from our many sponsors and members this important work would not happen. Our watershed depends on it: our future depends on it.

Thank you again.
