Art Guild has monthly meeting

The Glenwood Springs Art Guild will hold its monthly meeting for October at 7 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 8, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

The art demonstration this month will be given by Marcia Fusaro on the use of pastels. Fusaro is a noted portraiture artist specializing in horses.

Following her demonstration, the Guild will hold a business meeting, where jurors for the 2003 Fall Art Festival will be selected, and a nominating committee for 2003 officers will be selected. Refreshments will be served.

Glenwood Springs Art Guild members displaying their art work in October are Suzy Duroux at the Flower Mart and at the Vita Mart, Suzanne Hutchins at the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association, Ida Bernaman at Glenwood Music, Ruth Kary at the John Glossa Jewelry Studio and Lyn Hemley at Campagna Insurance.

Maxey to give watercolor workshop

Noted Arizona artist Diane Maxey will give a three-day watercolor workshop, “Creative Florals,” Nov. 18, 19 and 20, at the First Congregational Church, 1425 N. 5th St., Grand Junction.

The workshop is sponsored by the Western Colorado Watercolor Society.

Maxey is in love with color. The excitement of sunlight, color and flowers are the driving forces in her vivacious watercolors.

Cost of the workshop is $110 for WCWS members and $130 for non-members. For more information, call Ruth Glenn Little, 970-285-9070.
