Kids art contest

Quilt show



The Aspen Chapel Gallery presents Roaring Fork Quilters which opens with a reception from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12. Artists include Polly Whitcomb, Linda Sandels, P.S. Keran, Glenda Chency, Jan Horn, Maureen Rogers, Sandy Boyd, B. Anne Greene, Kathy Schattleitner and Donna Yost. The show runs through Jan. 5.

Paint like Picasso



Aspen Art Museum is now taking registration for winter workshops including winter break art camps, candlemaking, drawing, “Painting Like Picasso,” and pinhole photography for young people, and gingerbread house making and “Petite Masters” for families.

Workshops for adults include figure drawing, oil painting, painting on glass, watercolor, and “Art for Seniors.” Advance registration is required.

Make turkey platters

The Carbondale Clay Center is offering a turkey platters class, two Saturdays in a row from 10 a.m. to noon, Nov. 16 and 23, at the clay center, 135 Main St. in Carbondale. This is a special, two-day class and is open to all ages and abilities, children and adults. Cost of the class is $80 or $120 for a parent with child. All materials and supplies are included. Colorado Mountain College’s Professional Photography program invites the public to view student works from Spring Valley’s Portfolio Seminar and Digital Portfolio classes at the Daily Bread Cafe and Bakery, Nov. 6 through Dec. 2. The Daily Bread is located at the corner of 7th and Grand in Glenwood Springs.

Winterfest applications

The Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts invites all artists and artisans to submit slides or photos and an application to participate in one of the area’s most popular arts and crafts fairs, our 12th annual WinterFest, which runs from Friday, Dec. 6 through Sunday, Dec. 8.

Applications must be postmarked no later than Monday, Nov. 7. Call 945-2414 for information or come to the Center and pick up an application.
