Garfield commissioners in Carbondale today

The Garfield Board of County Commissioners holds its regular meeting today in Carbondale.

The meeting begins at 9 a.m. at Carbondale Town Hall, 511 Colorado Ave. There will be an opportunity for comments from persons not on the agenda at the start of the meeting.

Regular agenda items include:

• A presentation by the county’s investment advisory board and semiannual financial statement from county Treasurer Georgia Chamberlain.

• A continued public hearing to verify whether a medical marijuana growing facility on Silt Mesa and operated by Green Natural Solutions in Glenwood Springs was in place before a July 2010 county moratorium.

• A public hearing to consider a permit for a water impoundment facility to be operated by Encana Oil and Gas northwest of Parachute.

• A site visit to the proposed waste transfer facility site along County Road 100 east of Carbondale. The proposal is to be formally considered by the commissioners at a public hearing during the next regular BOCC meeting on Sept. 17 in Glenwood Springs.
