Garfield County June real estate numbers, second best for 2009, lag behind 2008

Garfield County real estate transactions for the month of July show the second best month of year, according to data derived from the Clerk and Recorder’s Office.

Dollar volume totaled $24,760,700, which was down 13 percent from June’s total of $28,415,500. July transactions totaled 64, which was down nearly 15 percent from June’s total of 75. June has reported the most activity with regard to both dollars and transactions in 2009.

For the year, the dollar volume totals $131,038,300, which is off from 2008’s total through July by 74 percent. In addition, transactions for the year total 342, reflecting a decrease from the same time period of 2008 by about 68 percent.
