Garfield County Libraries schedule for April 14-20

Meghan Hurley will be at the Rifle Branch Library from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, April 21 to help give parents and other adults the tools to help build safer communities by sharing ten tips for sexual abuse prevention. Hurley is a mental health therapist who is the core sexual abuse treatment provider for the Garfield County Department of Human Services. The presentation is free and open to all, and can be viewed online via Zoom for those unable to attend in person. For more information call the library at 970-625-3471.
The New Castle and Parachute branches of the Garfield County Libraries are entering the next phase of their building remodels this month.
Beginning April 9 in Parachute and April 18 in New Castle, the main areas of both libraries will be closed to the public as construction continues. During this phase, limited curbside services will be available at each location. These services include staff-assisted retrieval of library materials, hold pickups, and access to printing, copying and scanning.
Programs and events typically held at the libraries will take place at off-site locations during the closure. The branches will also temporarily close for short periods later in the construction process, with details to be announced in advance.
