Garfield County libraries schedule for Dec. 9-15
At the Garfield County Libraries this week, the holidays are kicking off with Christmas Crafts on Friday in the Silt Branch Library, the Holiday Singalong with the Roaring Fork Youth Orchestra on Saturday in Silt as well and an event in New Castle at Coal Ridge High School on Saturday, an invitation to celebrate culture and food.
On Wednesday and Saturday, reindeer will be visiting the libraries at different locations so be sure to check out which location for what day.
Meet the author: Lou Dawson comes to Carbondale on Wednesday to discuss Dawson’s exhilarating yet tumultuous memoir “Avalanche Dreams”. The book chronicles his evolution from a young Texan boy to a seasoned mountaineer, and eventually a committed family man. This journey was amidst the vibrant backdrop of the 1960s counterculture revolution. Books will be available for sale after the event.
Due to programming schedule changes, Pokemon Club in New Castle has been cancelled for the foreseeable future.
Be sure to visit the libraries’ events pages because some may require pre-registration or include details not listed here. The webpage can be found here: https://www.gcpld.org/news-and-events.
