Garfield County Libraries schedule for Jan. 13-19

The Garfield County Libraries are hosting a variety of events this week, offering something for everyone across multiple branches.

The Silt Branch Library has a Family History 101 event on Wednesday morning for help on tracing family trees and searching records. The Carbondale Branch will welcome Holly Richardson from the Waldorf School for Musical Storytime on Wednesday as well. The New Castle Branch Library will partner with the Aspen Science Center for two Exploration Hour sessions on Friday, Jan. 17,one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

On Saturday, Jan. 18, the Fantasy Fest is taking place at the Grand Valley Recreation Center in Parachute/Battlement Mesa to celebrate fantasy books and characters. Also on Saturday the Rifle Branch Library will be celebrating the life and legacy of Harry Hutton, hosted by the Rifle Heritage Center, showing his watercolor paintings.
