Garfield County Libraries schedule for June 23 – 29

Garfield County Libraries are hosting a variety of youth events this week, including the return of a fan favorite.
Mr. Tap is back, bringing the rhythm and history of tap dancing to each library branch Tuesday through Thursday, with two visits per day. For exact times, visit gcpld.org/summer-reading.
In Carbondale, teens can head to the library at 4:15 p.m. Thursday to make personal pizzas. The event is open to ages 10 and older as part of the Summer Reading Challenge. Call 970-963-2889 for details.
The Rifle library will host a tie-dye party from 2-4 p.m. Friday for ages 9 to 17. Participants can tie-dye provided backpacks or bring their own items. Registration is required. Call 970-625-3471.
Teens ages 12 to 17 are invited to Digital Domination at the Parachute branch from 2-3:30 p.m. Friday, June 27. The event includes a Mario Kart competition, additional console games, beginner coding on CodeCombat, and snacks. Future sessions are scheduled for July 25 and Aug. 29. Call 970-285-9870.
Carbondale’s library will host a Sound Immersion experience with Ildi Ingraham at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 28. Guests are encouraged to bring a mat, blanket and pillow to relax during the crystal bowl, gong and chime performance. Repeat events are planned for Aug. 9 and Sept. 20.
At 6 p.m. Monday, June 30, the Rifle branch will welcome a representative from the Pauline S. Schneegas Wildlife Foundation to discuss birds of prey, predator-proofing coops and coexisting with wildlife. The event is free.
The BikeThere event takes place at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at all branches, with Parachute’s session held at the Grand Valley Recreation Center. Visit garfieldcleanenergy.org/bikethere for details.
