Garfield County near top for January single-family sales

Real estate data from the five resort county areas of Eagle, Garfield, Pitkin, Routt and Summit showed collectively fewer transactions than years past.

Collectively, for the first month of 2009, the five-county area totaled 392 transactions. While we in Garfield County were not chart-toppers with 38 transactions, we were near the top with regard to single-family transactions.

In fact, Garfield County recorded 17 single-family transactions, second to only Summit County, which reported 18. Eagle County followed the leaders with 15, while Pitkin and Routt each posted four.

In addition, of the transactions that took place with regard to single family, only three counties posted increases with regard to average price.

Those areas include Garfield, Pitkin and Routt counties, with $525,229, $5,652,528 and $1,468,750, respectively. Both Eagle and Summit counties showed decreases in average price so far this year with $1,112,767 and $826,050, respectively.
