Garfield County real estate has best month of the year

Real estate dollars and transactions for the month of June fared much better than previous months in 2009. Dollars for May totaled $28,415,500, which is an increase of 82 percent over the month of May. The second highest month thus far this year was April, which came in at $20.7 million. Transactions also showed a big leap over May’s total of 43, with an increase of 74 percent to 75. The next closest month in 2009 was February with a total of 46.

Through the month of June, Garfield County is still down significantly from last year’s mid-year total. Through June 2008 we were totaling about $440 million, compared to 2009’s $106 million, that’s a decrease of about 76 percent. Transactions are off by about 70 percent from 2008, with this year reporting 278, compared to 917 last year, same time period.
