Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Underage drinking: Deputies contacted an intoxicated person in the 1000 mile of County Road 210 near Rifle at 1 a.m. on June 10. Valery Janine Williams, 20, of Rifle was cited for underage drinking.
Invalid plates: Deputies stopped a motorist at 11:20 a.m. on June 10 for disobeying a traffic sign. Heather Fritts, 26, of Glenwood Springs was cited for disobeying a traffic control device and driving with invalid license plates.
Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted two people at 5:20 p.m. on June 11 on Queen City Circle in Battlement Mesa. Joshua Allen Snyder, 29, of Parachute and Athena Sunshine Godwin, 32, of Parachute were arrested on Garfield County warrants related to earlier marijuana charges. Both were later freed on bond.
Warrant arrest: John Robert Webber III, 21, of Silt turned himself in at 3:30 p.m. on June 13 for Garfield County warrants for failure to appear and failure to pay court fines.
Warrant arrest: Deputies stopped a motorist for speeding at 6 p.m. on June 13 on Highway 82 seven miles south of Glenwood Springs. The driver, Humberto Topete-Macedo, 30, of Glenwood Springs was wanted on a felony warrant for manufacture of amphetamines. He was arrested for the warrant and cited for speeding 5 mph over the limit.
No insurance, drug possession: A deputy stopped a motorist at 6 p.m. on June 13 on June Avenue near Rifle for speeding. The driver, Robert Scott Higgins, 21, of Rifle was cited for no proof of insurance and speeding 10 mph over the limit. A passenger in the vehicle was allegedly found to be in possession of cocaine. He was arrested on suspicion of drug possession and later released on bond.
Drug paraphernalia: Deputies contacted a suspicious vehicle in the 2000 block of Mitchell Creek in West Glenwood at 1 a.m. on June 14. Four juveniles in the car were released to their parents. Two of the juveniles were cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Harassment: Deputies responded to a domestic violence incident at 3 a.m. on June 14 in the 100 block of Mineral Springs Circle in Battlement Mesa. They arrested Jose Antonio Garcia Magallon, 51, of Parachute on suspicion of harassment. He was later freed on bond.
Possession of a firearm: Deputies arrested a woman at the Garfield County Courthouse at 2:30 p.m. on June 14. Veronica Inskeep, 45, of Parachute was arrested for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of contraband and possession of a controlled substance.
