Garfield County Sheriff’s Office Crime Report – March 20, 2014
Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Drinking party arrests: Deputies contacted several people on County Road 248 outside Rifle on March 10 at 10:16 p.m. Idan Gonzalez-Juarez, 25, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested on suspicion of violation of a restraining order; Idan Gonzalez-Juarez, 25, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested on suspicion of providing alcohol to a minor; Cielo Velasco, 20, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of illegal possession or consumption of alcohol by a minor; and Estenli Villezcas-Bustillos, 22, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of providing alcohol to a minor. All four men were taken to jail.
Driving offenses: Deputies stopped a vehicle in the North Valley and Grand Avenue area in Silt on March 12 at 8:32 p.m. Kevin Paul Kuersten, 30, of Silt, was arrested on suspicion of failure to provide proof of insurance, improper signal and driving with a revoked license as a habitual traffic offender. He was taken to jail.
Warrant arrest: Deputies stopped a vehicle on Stone Quarry Road in Battlement Mesa on March 13 at 2 a.m. Jacob Edward Murdock, 29, of Battlement Mesa, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and for an active warrant. He was taken to jail.
Fraud: Deputies responded to a fraud incident in the 200 block of South Ridge Court in Battlement Mesa on March 14 at 4:34 p.m. This case is closed/inactive pending further leads.
Domestic violence: Deputies responded to a disturbance in progress in the 800 block of West Battlement Parkway in Battlement Mesa on March 14 at 8:38 a.m. Vanessa Lynn Lujan, 35, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief, second degree burglary and Domestic violence. She was taken to jail.
Traffic, drugs, weapons offenses: Deputies contacted a man in a vehicle in the westbound lanes of I-70 outside Parachute on March 15 at 11:56 p.m. Jordan Patrick Bilskemper, 27, of Denver, was issued a summons for possession of more than 6 to 12 ounces of marijuana, driving in a passing lane, failure to drive in a single lane and possession of an illegal weapon.
DUI: Deputies contacted a woman in a vehicle near the intersection of Colorado Highway 13 and U.S. Highway 6 in Rifle on March 15 at 7:02 p.m. Kimberly Dawn Kukuchka, 47, of Littleton, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, driving on a divided highway, driving with an excessive alcohol content, not wearing her seat belt and failure to drive in a single lane. She was taken to jail.
DUI: Deputies stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of Main Street in Silt on March 16 at 12:30 a.m. Blaine Edwin Krumpe, 28, of Silt, was issued a summons for failure to provide proof of insurance, DUI and not having a license plate light on the vehicle.
Traffic arrest: Deputies stopped a vehicle at the Colorado Highway 13 bypass and U.S. Highway 6 intersection in Rifle on March 16 at 10:18 p.m. Paul Michael Cassese, 36, of Grand Junction, was arrested on suspicion of speeding, driving with a suspended license and failure to provide proof of insurance. He was taken to jail.
