Garfield County Sheriff’s Report

Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Speeding: At 6:17 a.m. on Jan. 24, deputies stopped a vehicle on I-70, and ticketed Jessica Alice Haralson, 48, of Glenwood Springs on charges of speeding 10-19 miles per hour over the limit, and for having fictitious vehicle registration.

A thin horse: At 10:48 a.m. on Jan. 24, Animal Control got a call about a “thin horse” at an undisclosed location. Deputies are seeking the owner, and the county’s brand inspector has been notified of the case.



Domestic disturbance: At 8:31 p.m. on Jan. 24, deputies were called to a house on Antlers Lane (County Road 225) for a reported domestic disturbance. Jason Ray Dominguez, 28, of Rifle, was arrested and jailed on charges of violating a restraining order, possession of drug paraphernalia and domestic violence.

Fire fighting: At 1:04 a.m. on Jan. 25, deputies assisted the Grand Valley Fire Department with a fire call on Housetop Mountain Road near Parachute.
