Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court. Pornography: Deputies are investigating a report of sales of child pornography in Rifle. The situation was reported on May 25.Cruelty to animals: The animal control deputy responded to a report of animal abuse in the 100 block of Riverbend Drive near New Castle at noon on May 25. Lee Alan Harrington, 25, of New Castle, was cited for cruelty to animals and not having his dog licensed.Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted Joseph Charles D’Agostino, 35, of Glenwood Springs, at 5:45 p.m. on May 25, and took him into custody on an arrest warrant for three marijuana charges.Fraud: Deputies are investigating a report of fraud in the Battlement Mesa area. The incident was reported on May 26.Harassment: Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at 6:30 p.m. on May 27 in the 3000 mile of County Road 114 near Glenwood Springs. They arrested Rosa J. Granados, 23, of Glenwood Springs, on suspicion of harassment.Dog bite: Deputies are investigating a dog bite suffered by a 13-year-old boy in Parachute. The incident was reported at 6:40 p.m. on May 27.Theft: Deputies observed a theft at the Kum & Go store in Battlement Mesa at 4:20 a.m. on May 28. They cited Joshua Daniel Brenckman, 25, of Parachute, on suspicion of theft.Motor vehicle theft: Deputies were called to an incident of an intoxicated man who was trying to take another person’s vehicle at 10:30 p.m. on May 29 in the 200 block of Mel Ray Road in West Glenwood. They arrested Michael Wayne Allen, 53, of Glenwood Springs, on suspicion of aggravated motor vehicle theft and first degree criminal trespass.Assault: Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at 2:40 a.m. on May 30 in the 5000 mile of County Road 154 south of Glenwood Springs. They arrested Ana Laura Maldonado, 29, of Aurora, on suspicion of assault.Driving without a valid license: A deputy stopped a vehicle at 10:30 a.m. on May 30 in the 5000 mile of County Road 335 south of New Castle because the driver’s view was obstructed. Tony Lee Granaman, 50, of Hotchkiss, was arrested on suspicion of driving without a valid license.Investigations: Deputies are investigating the burglary of a residence in Battlement Mesa reported May 30, a case of child abuse in Battlement Mesa that was reported on May 30, and a possible theft that occurred in Detroit, Mich., that was reported on May 31.Violation of court order: Deputies were advised at 4:15 a.m. on May 31 of a jail inmate who had violated a court restraining order, and arrested Nicholas Aldrich, 26, of El Jebel, for the violation.Driving without a valid license: A deputy stopped a vehicle for a defective headlight at 11:30 p.m. on May 31 on Rainbow Trail in Battlement Mesa. The driver, William Leroy Walter, 50, of Parachute, was arrested on suspicion of driving while his license was revoked for habitual traffic offenses, using phony vehicle license plates with an expired date, and for driving with defective headlights.Warrant arrest: While dealing with another call at 11:40 p.m. on May 31 in Apple Tree Park near New Castle, deputies contacted Mikel Don Vogel, 25, of New Castle, who was found to be wanted on a warrant for contempt of court. He was arrested and later posted bond.Harassment: Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at 1:45 a.m. on June 1 in the 1000 mile of County Road 241 north of New Castle. They arrested Joshua Martin Davis, 28, of New Castle, on suspicion of harassment. He was later freed on bond.Underage drinking: Deputies were called to a disturbance in the 16000 mile of Highway 82 south of Carbondale at 4:20 a.m. on June 1. They arrested Victor Salvador-Tamayo, 19, of Carbondale, on suspicion of underage drinking and criminal mischief.Driving under the influence: Deputies stopped a vehicle after seeing the motorist drive over a median at Whiteriver Avenue and Highway 13 in Rifle at 6:15 a.m. on June 2. They arrested Jodie Lorraine Hackett, 45, of Rifle, on suspicion of failure to drive in a single lane and driving under the influence.Violation of restraining order: Deputies responded to an incident at the bottom of County Road 107 near Carbondale at 11:50 a.m. on June 2. They arrested Paul R. Huttenhower, 53, of Glenwood Springs, on suspicion of violation of a restraining order and possession of drug paraphernalia.Violation of restraining order: Deputies contacted Larkin Marvin Harris, 64, of Rifle, for violation of a restraining order at 5:20 p.m. on June 2 in the 600 block of County Road 321 near Rifle. He was arrested and lodged in the county jail.Assault: Deputies were called to a disturbance at 11 a.m. on June 3 in the 300 block of East Vista Drive near Silt. They arrested Sharon Lee Wilson, 46, of Silt, on suspicion of assault.Driving without a valid license: Deputies stopped a vehicle at 3:50 p.m. on June 3 at the intersection of County Road 100 and Highway 82 for speeding. They later arrested Conrado Hernandez, 32, of Basalt, on suspicion of speeding, giving officers false identification information and driving while his license was under restraint for a previous alcohol offense. He was freed on bond.Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted Dale Allen Wessel, 53, of New Castle, at his home at 4 p.m. on June 3 regarding a warrant for failure to pay court fines. He was arrested and later freed on bond.Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted Heriberto Sostenes-De La Cruz, 20, of Rifle, on a warrant for failure to pay court fines at 5:15 p.m. on June 3 in the 5000 mile of County Road 346 south of Rifle. He was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, and later freed on bond.Warrant arrest: Deputies arrested Juanita Sizemore, 49, of Rifle, at 5:30 p.m. on June 3 in the 400 block of East First Street on a warrant for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She was later freed on bond.Warrant arrest: Deputies responded to a residence in the 2000 mile of County Road 154 at 11:45 p.m. on June 3 after receiving a report that a woman with an arrest warrant was there. They arrested Stephanie Guillen, 20, of Glenwood Springs, on a failure to appear warrant.
