Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Investigations: Deputies received reports on Oct. 6 of possible restraining order violations occurring in the Glenwood Springs area. The matter is under investigation.

Assault: Deputies were called to a domestic disturbance in the 800 block of West Battlement Parkway in Battlement Mesa at 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 6. Shawn Eric Depoy, 36, of Parachute, was arrested on suspicion of assault.

Assault: Deputies were called to a disturbance on North Ridge Court in Parachute at 10:40 p.m. on Oct. 6. Damion Bruce Giacchino Jr., 19, of Parachute, was arrested on suspicion of assault and underage drinking.

Investigations: Deputies are investigating reports made Oct. 7 of a sexual assault alleged to have occurred seven or eight years ago in the Silt area, and a report of a burglary that occurred some time earlier.

Assault: Deputies responded to a disturbance on Paradox Place in Battlement Mesa at 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 7. Benjamin Curtis Johnson, 26, of Rifle, was cited for assault and Richard Johnson, 25, of Parachute was cited for criminal mischief.

Underage drinking: Deputies stopped a motorist for speeding in the 1500 block of County Road 210 north of Rifle at noon on Oct. 8. Cody August Taylor, 19, of Silt, was cited for underage drinking, speeding 10 mph over the limit and having his view obstructed while driving.
