Garfield County Sheriff’s report
Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Warrant arrest: A Deputy contacted a vehicle at 12:16 a.m. on Nov. 4 on I-70 outside of Glenwood Springs for speeding. The driver, Aaron Michael Caricato, 29, of Nathrop, was found to have a Prowers County warrant. Caricato was arrested and transported to Garfield County Jail, where he was booked in on the warrant and later released on bond.
Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted a vehicle in the 100 mile of County Road 210 at 6:44 a.m. on Nov. 4 for a traffic violation and found that the driver of the vehicle had an active warrant for their arrest. Erquis O Selgado Pacheco, 23, of Rifle, was taken into custody and transported to the Garfield County Jail.
Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted a male subject on Stone Quarry Road in Parachute at 3:20 a.m. on Nov. 5 whom they knew to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Deputies took Marvin Wade Justice, 43, of Parachute, into custody and transported him to the Garfield County Jail, where he was booked on the outstanding warrant. He was released on bond.
Driving under the influence: Deputies contacted a female party in the 1000 mile of County Road 100 near Carbondale at 3:27 a.m. on Nov. 5 for failing to stop at a stop sign. Catherine Elizabeth Markle, 50, of Aspen, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. She was released on bond.
Warrant arrest: Deputies were advised that a juvenile with an outstanding felony warrant was at a residence in the 100 block of Empire Court in Parachute and wanted to turn himself in. Deputies responded to the residence at 2:44 a.m. on Nov. 5 and took the juvenile into custody. Deputies then transported the juvenile to a juvenile detention facility, where he was booked.
Violation of a restraining order: Deputies stopped a vehicle at 1:21 a.m. on Nov. 6 on W. Battlement Parkway in Parachute for a traffic offense. Deputies learned that the driver, Kevin Clayton Risley, Jr., 21, of Parachute, had violated a mandatory protection order. Deputies then took the Risley into custody and transported him to the Garfield County Jail. He was released on bond.
Driving under the influence, underage drinking: A Deputy contacted a vehicle at 3:12 a.m. on Nov. 6 on I-70 outside of Glenwood Springs for speeding. The driver, Mario Loya Fierro, 23, of Basalt was issued a summons for speeding and DUI. A passenger, Lisa Marie Ruiz, 20, of New Castle, was issued a summons for underage consumption of alcohol.
Warrant arrest: A Deputy contacted a vehicle at 4:09 a.m. on Nov. 6 for failing to yield to a stationary emergency vehicle on Interstate 70. The driver, Kufre Ibanga Etuk, 26, of Aurora, was found to have a nationwide, no bond El Paso County felony warrant for failure to comply. Etuk was arrested and transported to Garfield County Jail.
