Garfield County Sheriff’s Report

Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Assault: Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at 4:57 p.m. on Nov. 6 in the 100 block of Cedar Circle in Battlement Mesa. Upon arrival Marlon Ivan Espinoza Lanza, 23, of Parachute, was arrested after a brief struggle with deputies. Lanza was booked at the Garfield County Jail without further incident.

Harassment, menacing: Deputies were dispatched to a harassment call at 11:26 p.m. on Nov. 6 in the 100 block of Comanchero Trail in Silt where Travis Daniel Gardineer, 30, of Silt, was arrested for harassment and menacing.



Loose dog: Deputies found a dog running at large at 3:46 p.m. on Nov. 7 on Rainbow Trail in Battlement Mesa. Deputies were unable to contact the owner and the dog was taken to Divide Creek Animal Hospital.

Loose dog: Animal Control impounded a female German shepherd-type dog at 4:10 p.m. on Nov. 7 in the 3000 mile of County Road 214. The dog had a red collar with paw print designs. No owner has been identified at this time.



Injured cat: Animal Control impounded an injured adolescent feline in the 400 mile of County Road 370 at 10: 50 p.m. on Nov. 7. The feline was housed for medical evaluation and no owner has been identified at this time.
