Glenwood Springs, CO Colorado
Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Vicious animal: Deputies were dispatched to a vicious animal call at 12:10 a.m. on Nov. 23 in the 100 block of Morning Star Drive near Parachute where a dog killed another dog. Kyle Dean Brown, 33, of Parachute, was issued a summons for dog at large, and Karinna Michelle Ferguson, 29, of Parachute, for a vicious dog.
Warrant arrest: Deputies responded to a call at 1:51 p.m. on Nov. 23 that two Comcore workers had warrants. Preston Scott Goodnight, 20, of Rifle, and Steven Lee Caple, 50, of Glenwood Springs, were arrested in the 200 block of County Road 333.
Driving under the influence: Deputies responded to a possible motorists assist at 2:38 p.m. on Nov. 23 at County Road 300 and Battlement Parkway in the Battlement Mesa area. After further investigation, Michael James Cooney, 39, of Parachute was arrested suspicion of DUI along with other traffic related charges. He was released on bond.
Warrant arrest: At 6:57 p.m. on Nov. 23, deputies arrested a man on a warrant in the 30000 mile of Highway 6 in Rifle. Adam Thomas Robertson, 23, of Rifle, was transported to the Garfield County Jail. He was released on bond.
Driving under restraint, warrant arrest: Deputies stopped a vehicle at 11:44 a.m. on Nov. 25 in the 200 block of Lions Park Circle in Rifle for a traffic violation. Investigation revealed that the driver, John David Collins, 28, of Silt, had a suspended license and no insurance for the vehicle. The passenger, Courtney Jo Poyner, 28, of Silt, had a warrant out of Rio Blanco County. Poyner was arrested and transported to Garfield County Jail. She was released on bond.
Possession of forged document: Deputies contacted a motorist for a traffic violation outside at 6:22 p.m. on Nov. 25 at County Road 315 and County Road 346 near Rifle. Jose Luis Sanchez-Luna, 48, of Glenwood Springs, was taken into custody for driving without a valid license, speeding, criminal possession of a forged instrument and criminal possession of an identification document.
Possession: Deputies contacted a vehicle at 11:41 p.m. on Nov. 25 at Highway 6 and County Road 227 outside Silt for a traffic violation. A small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was recovered and the driver, Kody Baker Wilson, 23, of Silt, was issued a summons.
Underage drinking, driving under the influence: Deputies contacted a female driver at 3:26 a.m. on Nov. 26 outside the city limits of Carbondale for failing to drive in a single lane. Mariah Jane Hurst, 20, of Carbondale, was subsequently arrested for suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and for underage drinking.
Driving under the influence, possession: At 3:58 a.m. on Nov. 26, a deputy contacted a vehicle on Interstate 70 outside of Glenwood Springs for speeding. The driver, Justin Page, 33, of Silt, was found to be intoxicated and driving under restraint. Page was also found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and was arrested and transported to Garfield County Jail. He was released on bond.
Burglary: Deputies took a report of a burglary at 9:45 a.m. on Nov, 26 in the Glenwood Springs area. The case will remain open and under investigation.
Criminal mischief: A deputy was advised of a criminal mischief and theft that had occurred at 12:54 p.m. on Nov. 26 at a business in the 1000 block of Main Street located outside the city limits of Silt. A deputy investigated the incident and at this time there are no known suspects.
Search and Rescue assistance: At 7:57 p.m. on Nov. 26, Search and Rescue was requested to assist the Glenwood Springs Fire Department with a female party who had broken her leg on the Hanging Lake Trail outside of Glenwood Springs.
Underage drinking: Deputies contacted three parties in a suspicious vehicle at 2:28 a.m. on Nov. 27 at County Road 100 and Highway 82 outside the city limits of Carbondale. Jonathan Remington Krueger, 18, of Carbondale was issued summons for minor in possession of alcohol and Lucas Matthew Maison, 18, of Carbondale, was issued a summons for minor in possession of alcohol and possession of less than two ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
