Garfield County Sheriff’s Report
Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Driving under restraint: Deputies arrested Mario Antonio Concepcion Baeza, 27, of Glenwood Springs, at County Road 125 and Springridge Drive at 11:46 a.m. on Nov. 27 for driving under revocation.
Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted a male party at 1:35 p.m. on Nov. 27 in the 5000 mile of County Road 335 who had an active warrant for his arrest out of Garfield County. Terry Lee Gore II, 42, of New Castle, was arrested and transported to the Garfield County Jail.
Fake plates: Deputies contacted a vehicle that had expired license plates in the 800 block of Main Street in Silt at 1:51 p.m. on Nov. 27. During the investigation it was found that the plates were fictitious. James A Wallace II, 50, of New Castle, was issued a summons and released from the scene.
Cat shot: Deputies responded to an animal complaint at 1:19 p.m. on Nov. 28 in the 100 block of Lupine lane near Parachute that a cat had been shot. No suspects were found, case closed pending further leads.
Theft: Deputies took a report at 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 28 of a tire theft in the 5700 mile of Highway 82 outside Glenwood Springs. The case is closed pending further leads.
Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted a party with an active warrant at 6:47 a.m. on Nov. 28 at their residence in the 1500 mile of County Road 335 outside New Castle city limits. Kevin Ross Foskett, 37, of New Castle, was arrested and taken to the jail without incident.
Loose dog: Animal Control responded to a call at 12:39 p.m. on Nov. 29 of a dog in custody at the CDOT No Name shop near Glenwood Springs. The dog was impounded and transported to an area animal shelter to be housed. No owner has been identified.
Injured man: Deputies responded to a search and rescue incident at 6:11 p.m. on Nov. 29 on Forest Service Road 300 and 302 near Glenwood Springs. The man had broken his leg and was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Driving under restraint: A deputy stopped in the 5000 mile of County Road 335 near New Castle to assist a motorist at 2:55 a.m. on Nov. 30. During the course of the stop it was discovered the subject’s license was suspended and he was in violation of a protection order. Lucio Flores Perea, 35, of Clifton, was arrested and transported to Garfield County Jail. He was released on bond.
Warrant arrest: Deputies responded to a call at 4:09 p.m. on Nov. 30 in the 200 mile of County Road 333 near Rifle for a man with a warrant. Mario Manuel Pacheco, 25, of Rifle, was taken into custody and transported to the Garfield County Detentions Center without incident.
Possession: Deputies stopped a vehicle at 1:44 a.m. on Dec. 1 at County Road 221 and Native Springs Drive outside Rifle for a traffic violation. A small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was recovered. Stepfanie Christine West, 23, of Glenwood Springs, was released on a summons.
Warrant arrest, driving under restraint: Deputies contacted a vehicle at 12:03 a.m. on Dec. 3 on Interstate 70 outside of Rifle for a defective headlight. Deputies learned that the driver, Paul Lewis Lawrence, 29, of Casper, Wyo., had a warrant for his arrest. Lawrence was also found to have a suspended license and was arrested and booked into the Garfield County Jail. He was released on bond.
Assault: Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at 3:42 a.m. on Dec. 3 in the 100 block of Iron Wedge Circle in Parachute. Juan Del Real, 35, of Parachute, was arrested for third-degree assault and obstruction of telephone services. Del Real was transported to the Garfield County Jail.
Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted a woman in the 100 block of Logans Lane at 5:46 p.m. on Dec. 3 who had an active warrant for her arrest. Samantha Ferrell, 21, of Parachute, was taken into custody and transported to the Garfield County Jail.
Warrant arrest: Deputies stopped a vehicle on Interstate 70 at 9:41 p.m. on Dec. 3 for only having one headlight. The driver, Dionne Nicole Luna, 31, of Silt, was also found to have a warrant for her arrest. Luna was arrested and booked into the Garfield County Jail and given a citation for the equipment violation. She was released on bond.
Loose dog: Deputies responded to a dog at large call at 10:55 p.m. on Dec. 3 in the 1700 mile of County Road 250 near Silt. Deputies located the dog and transported it to a local animal facility for impound. At this time no owner has been located.
Driving under the influence: Deputies contacted a vehicle at 11:01 p.m. on Dec. 3 in the 1000 block of Midland Avenue for failing to drive in a single lane. Juan Majano, 39, of Glenwood Springs, was subsequently arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Loose dog: At 4:41 p.m. on Dec. 4, animal control was notified of a female pit bull-type dog taken to the CARE Shelter in Glenwood Springs. The dog was found roaming in the 50000 block of Highway 6 in the West Glenwood Springs area. The dog had a collar without tags.
Attempted trespass: Deputies took a report of an attempted trespass at 2:57 p.m. on Dec. 4 at a residence in the 200 mile of County Road 262 near Silt. The case is closed at this time pending further leads.
Harassment: Deputies were dispatched at 3:46 p.m. on Dec. 3 to a report of a family disturbance in the 31000 block of Highway 6 outside of Silt city. John Weber Turner, 29, of Rifle and Ella Renee Turner, 50, of Silt, were each subsequently arrested for harassment. John Weber Turner was released on bond.
Harassment: Deputies responded to a fight at the Garfield County Jail at 2:06 a.m. on Dec. 5. An inmate, Luis Eduardo Garcia-Pimentel, 20, of Glenwood Springs, was charged with harassment.
Assault: At 5:43 a.m. on Dec. 5, deputies arrested Paul Richard Hodgden, 26, of Parachute in the 100 block of Green Mesa Place in Parachute for violation of protection order and third-degree assault. He was lodged in the Garfield County Jail. He was later released on bond.
Loose dog: At 9:57 a.m. on Dec. 5, animal control was advised of a husky-type dog running at large and getting into trash cans on Silverton Circle in Battlement Mesa. The owner, Dira Lynn Hurley, 41, of Parachute, was located and issued a summons.
Criminal mischief: Deputies responded to a criminal mischief call at 4:42 p.m. on Dec. 5 in the 1000 block of West Battlement Parkway in Battlement Mesa. A report was taken and at this time no suspects have been identified.
Criminal mischief: A juvenile was issued a summons at 11:08 p.m. on Dec. 5 for criminal mischief in 5000 mile of County Road 335 near New Castle.

Glenwood Canyon likely to remain closed for ‘weeks’ as I-70 assessed, repaired following numerous mudslides
Interstate 70 will likely remain closed for several weeks, as Colorado Department of Transportation crews work to assess the extent of damage from several days of heavy rains and debris slides from the Grizzly Creek Fire burn scar.
