Garfield County Sheriff’s Report

Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Possession: Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 70 at 9:02 p.m. on Dec. 16 near Parachute for a vehicle that was failing to stay in a single lane of traffic. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the driver had drug paraphernalia in his possession. Ctormy Braaden Taylor, 21, of Grand Junction, was issued a summons and released.

Underage drinking, possession: Deputies contacted a suspicious vehicle at 4:56 a.m. on Dec. 17 in the 27000 block of Highway 6 near Rifle. As a result, Luis Sergio Aguilar-Robles, 19, of Rifle, and two juveniles were cited for underage drinking and possession of drug paraphernalia.



Criminal mischief: Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at 2:10 p.m. on Dec. 17 in the 27000 block of Highway 6 outside of Rifle. Jeremy Martin Brownson, 41, of Rifle, was taken into custody and transported to the Garfield County Jail.

Dog bite: Animal Control was notified of a dog bite at 4:12 p.m. on Dec. 17 on Bent Creek Circle in Battlement Mesa. Cheri Ruark, 56, of Rifle, was located and issued a summons for a vicious animal and dog at large.



Driving under the influence: Deputies contacted a vehicle for a traffic violation at 3:48 a.m. on Dec. 18 at County Road 103 and Highway 82 outside of Carbondale. Corey W Campbell, 42, of Carbondale, was found to be driving under the influence and was arrested and transported to the Garfield County Jail.

Driving under the influence: Deputies contacted a vehicle at 12:46 a.m. on Dec. 19 on Highway 82 in Carbondale. Shirley Ann Chin, 48, of Hollywood, Fla., was found to be intoxicated and was subsequently arrested and transported to Garfield County Jail. She was released on bond.

Eluding a police officer: At 7:47 p.m. on Dec. 19, deputies were advised of an individual who was possibly armed with a knife traveling west on Interstate 70. Deputies spotted the vehicle in the 100 block of Stone Quarry Road in Battlement Mesa. After a short pursuit, Alberto Paulie Pabon, 37, of Parachute, was arrested and transported to the Garfield County Jail for eluding and other traffic infractions.

Warrant arrest: Deputies arrested a man on an outstanding warrant at 7:48 p.m. on Dec. 20. Jared Nathan Burke, 19, was found in possession of drug paraphernalia. Burke was issued a summons for the drug paraphernalia and booked in the Garfield County Jail.

Violation of a restraining order: Deputies responded to a domestic violence call at 2 p.m. on Dec. 21 in the 500 block of Mountain Shadows Drive in Glenwood Springs. After investigation, Nicholas Jory Dow, 21, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested and transported to the Garfield County Jail.
