Garfield County Sheriff’s Report
Editor’s note: The Garfield County Sheriff’s Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Burglary: At 10:13 p.m. on July 18, deputies investigated a burglary in the 900 mile of County Road 106 in Carbondale. A computer and iPod were stolen from a residence.
Warrant arrest: At 5:09 p.m. on July 19, a deputy contacted a vehicle on I-70 outside of Glenwood Springs for speeding. The driver, Adrianna L Watts, 22, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., was cited for driving without proof of insurance. A passenger, Nathan Christopher Rietema, 36, of Boulder, was arrested and taken to the Garfield County Jail for a Weld County warrant, and cited for open container and criminal impersonation.
Child abuse: At 3:01 p.m. on July 20, deputies were advised of a child found in the 800 block of West Battlement Parkway in Battlement Mesa. Yesenia Gonzalez, 25, of Parachute, was cited for misdemeanor child abuse.
Sexual contact: At 5:35 p.m. on July 20, deputies responded to a report of unlawful sexual contact in Glenwood Springs. This case is under investigation.
Warrant arrest: At 1:20 p.m. on July 21, a deputy contacted a vehicle on I-70 outside of Parachute for speeding. The driver, Jose Christian Guarista, 28, of Tucson, Ariz., was found to have a Mesa County warrant for assault. Guarista was arrested and transported to Garfield County Jail.
