Garfield County transaction numbers second among the resort communities

Gross real estate transactions for the resort communities, which include Eagle, Garfield, Pitkin, Routt and Summit counties, showed Garfield County in second place with regard to transactions. Through the month of November, the resort areas had tallied 4,920 total transactions, with Summit County out in front with 1,254, or 25.5 percent of the total. Garfield County was in second with 1,210 transactions (24.5 percent), with Eagle slightly behind at 1,043 (21 percent). Rounding out the areas were Routt County with 828 transactions (17 percent) and Pitkin County with 585 (12 percent).

Transactions for 2008 have undoubtedly trailed those of 2007. However as it pertains to rankings, Garfield County showed consistency as it also nabbed the No. 2 spot in 2007, again trailing only Summit County. The remaining counties fell in the same order with Eagle, Routt, and Pitkin rounding out the remaining spots.
