6 p.m. Friday — Presented each holiday season by Carbondale Arts, Deck The Walls is carefully juried and open to artists and crafts people all over the Roaring Fork Valley and the state of Colorado. This year, Deck The Walls opens to the public on Friday, and runs through Dec. 29.

4 p.m., Saturday — There will be a reception for Rifle artist Carolyn McCann at the Rifle Library, recognizing her work with color, nature, textures and stories. Her work will be on display at the library through December.

5 p.m. Saturday — The New Castle Lions Club hosts its annual free Community Thanksgiving Dinner. Just bring a side dish/dessert or donations of nonperishable food items for LIFT-UP. There will be live music, and all are welcome.

7p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday — Defiance Community Players presents “Oliver! The Musical.” Purchase tickets at Sopris Lighting, the Glenwood Chamber or at the door one hour prior to show (exact cash or check only).
