Update: Gas leak secured, evacuation lifted in Glenwood Springs
A ruptured gas line near Sixth and Pine streets in Glenwood Springs that prompted temporary evacuation and shelter-in-place orders on Monday afternoon has been secured, according to a 3:22 p.m. Facebook update from the Glenwood Springs Fire Department. The leak affected businesses such as the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool, Hotel Colorado, and Yampah Vapor Caves. All evacuation and shelter-in-place orders have been lifted.
Black Hills Energy crews remain on-site, and authorities advise residents and visitors to avoid the area of Sixth Street between Maple and Olive streets as work continues.
