George Gilbert Chadwick

George Gilbert Chadwick, of Carbondale, passed away Oct. 30, 2006, at Valley View Hospital.

He was born March 20, 1933, in Laurence, Mass., to Gilbert Roy and Rita Blanche Chadwick.

He married Mary Ann Newman Feb. 14, 1959, in Falls Church, Virginia.

He is an alumnus of the University of New Hampshire, class of 1955, and is a founding partner and CEO of Deskin Research Group in Sunnyvale, Calif. In his years as an electrical engineer, he authored numerous patents related to signal processing, and he served as director of Lockheed-Martin’s Space Systems Division.

He is survived by his wife; son George Chadwick; daughter Caroline; brothers Robert, Kenneth, Clifford and James Chadwick; sister Marie Johnson; mother; and five grandchildren.

A celebration of George’s life will be held from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at the River Valley Ranch Clubhouse in Carbondale. All friends who have a memory to share are welcome to attend and bring their stories of George. A formal toast will be held at 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that people make donations to Challenge Aspen, P.O. Box M; Aspen, CO 81612.

Farnum-Holt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
