Georgia Mae Ochko passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 67 surrounded by her family after a ten-year battle with ovarian cancer.

She was very active in the Garfield County Search and Rescue for over 30 years. She was a member of the Elks Club for over 20 years and was the lady Elks president for three of those years. She also helped out with many events with her husband Steve for the Aspen Mountain Rescue. She was known for her custom theme parties and seasonal celebrations as she was a fantastic cook and had great talent for hospitality.

She enjoyed camping and ATVing with her family and friends. She was never a stranger to anyone and always had a smile to give. She never forgot a face or a name of anyone that she met.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Deanna Jean Mason.

Georgia was born in Carbondale, Colorado to Cloyd and Irene Green, of Carbondale.

She married Steve Ochko on Jan. 16, 1965. They have two sons, Steven (Kim) Ochko of Carbondale; grandsons, Spencer and Travis Marty (Rhonda) Ochko of Littleton; grandson, Chris of Glenwood Springs; brother, Leon (Betty) Green of Carbondale.

For everyone who’s life she had ever touched please join us for a celebration of life which will be held on Sat., Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Elks Lodge. Food will be provided so just bring a smile. Please feel free to dress casually. The family invites you to make any donations to Garfield County Search and Rescue in lieu of flowers.
