Geronimo Chavez-Salvidres, 50, died peacefully at his home in Glenwood Springs, May 14, 2006. Geronimo was born Sept. 30, 1955, in Mexico, to Celso and Maria (Salvidres) Chavez. He married Jeannilyn (Jeannie) James May 6, 1976. They had two children, Geronimo Chavez Jr. and Mariaelena Chavez.Geronimo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. He loved fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his children; six grandchildren; brothers Chendo Chavez, Lalo Chavez, Alcario Chavez, Diego Chavez, Salvador Chavez, Luiz Chavez and Richardo Chavez; and sisters Manuela Chavez, Avilia Chavez, Lupe Chavez and Veronica Chavez.He was preceded in death by his wife.There will be a visitation from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 1885 Blake Ave., Glenwood Springs. There will be a Memorial Mass at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to La Carniceria La Perla En Garcia’s.Farnum-Holt Funeral Home, 405 W. Seventh St., Glenwood Springs, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
