Get the facts on acquisition of Southwest
Dear Editor,
This letter is in response to Marty Lich’s letter of Friday, April 18.
To tell someone to do research and then disseminate erroneous facts is a downright shame, Ms. Lich.
You state at the end of your letter that the southwest was purchased by the United States from Mexico. By omitting the fact that a war was waged in 1846 against Mexico, in which American soldiers (as usual) slaughtered thousands of Mexicans in a swift and brutal land-grab, you commit a most egregious error.
Do some research and find the real reasons behind this war. You may just become horrified.
