Glen Delaney Morgan

Glen Delaney Morgan of Rancho Penasquitos, Calif., a former resident of New Castle, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, in San Diego. He was 83.A memorial service was held April 19 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Rancho Penasquitos.Mr. Morgan was born Oct. 16, 1920, in New Castle to Jess and Zoe Morgan, one of six children. Both parents met untimely deaths in 1929. As a young boy and teenager, he lived with John and Helene Ritter, and attended school with the Ritter children, Clay, Mary Ellen and Jane.He graduated from New Castle High School in 1939 and attended Colorado A & M, now Colorado State University, for a year before entering the military to serve in World War II.After his discharge from the armed services, Mr. Morgan settled in Southern California, where he owned and managed several independent meat markets over a 37-year career.He married Lenna Jeppson.He was preceded in death by sisters Faye Hueburger and Naomi Yost Schmautz; and by brothers Arthur Morgan, Howard Morgan and Harry Morgan.Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lenna Morgan; by a daughter, Judy Morgan; by stepchildren Steve Gallup and Chen Moffitt and their spouses; and by two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
