Glen Lavern Kittle

Glen Lavern Kittle passed away Oct. 25, 2005, at the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home in Rifle. He was 83 years old.He was born Dec. 14, 1921, in Cardiff, to Henry Clay and Jeanetta (Jonas) Kittle. Glen grew up in Spring Valley and later moved to Basalt, where he worked as a farmhand for many years, then was employed as a truck driver with Eagle County Road Department until his retirement.He served his country in the U.S. Army in World War II.His hobbies included hunting, fishing and arrowhead hunting. He had an impressive arrowhead collection.He loved children and would take them hunting and fishing. He was known to do without and give money and material things to people in need.Glen’s only survivors are some nieces and nephews. He was the youngest of seven children. All his siblings and his parents have passed away.There will be no services, and cremation has already taken place.Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
