Glenwood advances to state title game with 47-14 win

GLENWOOD SPRINGS The Glenwood Springs High School Demons dominated both sides of the ball enroute to a 47-14 win over Mountain View High in the semifinals of the Class 3A playoffs today.Quarterback Dakota Stonehouse led the Demons with 235 yards passing and two touchdowns.Glenwood took a 24-6 halftime lead on two Stonehouse rushing touchdowns and a gorgeous 57-yard TD pass to Kevin Screen.The defense held Mountain View in check and put the game away on a 22-yard interception and return by junior Nick Ciani in the third quarter to give the Demons a 38-14 lead.Michael Hudson scored two touchdowns, one on a 6-yard run and another on a 21-yard screen pass.The Demons (13-0) will play Fort Morgan (13-0) next Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Aurora for the Class 3A state title. Glenwood and Fort Morgan finished the regular season as the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams in Class 3A.
