Glenwood-based runaway teen found

A runaway teenager from Glenwood Springs was found on Saturday, March 7.

Ashley Wainwright, 16, disappeared on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from a group home in Grand Junction where she had been living since December 2003.

At that time, Ashley’s parents, Larry and Terri Wainwright of Glenwood Springs, notified police and sheriff departments from Glenwood Springs to Grand Junction of their daughter’s disappearance, and posted notices throughout the region.

Larry Wainwright contacted the Post Independent on Tuesday, March 9, notifying the paper of Ashley’s status. He also expressed thanks to the community for helping to locate his daughter.
