Glenwood Canyon bike path closed for season
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado – The Colorado Department of Transportation on Thursday closed the Glenwood Canyon bike path for the season. The path runs from Glenwood Springs to Dotsero, mile 116 to 131.
“Because of the amount of snow we received this week and the dangers of having pedestrians and cyclists on the path during snowstorms, it was time to close for the winter,” said CDOT Maintenance Area Supervisor D’Wayne Gaymon.
CDOT closes the Glenwood Canyon Bike Path each winter, when winter maintenance activities on I-70 above can create unsafe conditions on the path. The path typically opens in April each year, as weather permits.
