Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park Octoberfest is hosting its annual celebration on Saturday, as well as Oct. 7 and Oct. 14.

With the scenic beauty of the Roaring Fork Valley as a backdrop, visitors dressed in lederhosen and dirndl dresses can look forward to a day filled with traditional food, games and music.

The festivities kick off at 11 a.m. Guests can take a gondola ride up the mountain for $26 for adults and $21 for children 12 and under. Once at the top, a variety of activities for both adults and children await.

“You really have to be there,” Glenwood Caverns General Manager Nancy Heard said. “It is always a blast and everyone is able to have a great time. It’s a great opportunity for the kids to go enjoy some rides while mom and dad have themselves a beer.”

The Octoberfest menu features classic German dishes, including potato pancakes with chive sour cream and German sausage sandwiches with sauerkraut and fries. A beer tent will also be set up, offering 25 oz. commemorative Octoberfest mugs for $25 with $10 refills.

“Of course you can’t have Octoberfest without beer, so we will have plenty for people to enjoy,” Heard said.

Among others, Glenwood Caverns will be offering Breckenridge Brewery’s Oktoberfest German Amber Lager.

For family fun, the park offers games like ax throwing, keg bowling, and pumpkin tic-tac-toe. Children can also enjoy face painting and caricature drawings at no additional cost. The event promises an atmosphere of fun and excitement, set to the tunes of the Alpine Echo Band playing traditional German music from noon to 4 p.m.

The ticket options include upgrades for those wanting to explore the caves for $46 or enjoy all the rides for $69 per person.

“We are super excited to get the community together and wave goodbye to the summer and look ahead to the ski season,” Heard said.

As the Octoberfest at Glenwood Caverns comes to a close, the park will be preparing to end its summer season on Oct. 29. The doors will reopen Nov. 10, during which all rides except the alpine coaster will be closed. However, visitors can still explore the captivating caves, visits with resident trolls Chantico and Halvor, laser tag, 4D theater, gift shop and dining.
