On a pin-filled night at Summit, Glenwood Springs scored a 66-18 wrestling win on Thursday.

The Demons lost only three matches on a night in which every match was decided by either a pin or a forfeit.

“The boys wrestled well,” Demons assistant coach Miles Cook said. “The kids we lost to, one was ranked at 119 and the other at 152. We knew those would be rough weights for us. Everywhere else, we pretty much pulled through.”

A Mike Mills pin of Gabe Velasquez at the 2 minute, 50 second mark of the two’s 130-pound match was among the night’s highlights for the Demons.

At 160 pounds, Chris Ayala managed a second-period pin of Summit’s John Ramirez with the match tied at 2.

Zac Golden brought Glenwood a win at 189, pinning Javier Pineva in 3:59.

“It was right at the buzzer,” Cook said. “That was really great. He was filling a weight for us, really just kind of taking forfeits, and he got a pin for us tonight.”

Next up for the Demons is a Saturday trip to the Lake County Invitational.
