Staff ReportGlenwood Springs, CO Colorado

The Traveler senior transportation program needs drivers.Greg Jeung, who drove for almost three years, moved on from the job; his last day was Thursday. A part-time driver left Friday, and another part-time driver is temporarily unavailable.”We really have got to get some people either doing part-time or full-time driving for us or else I don’t know what’s going to happen,” said Cheryl Cain, director of the area’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program.Cain said advertising in the Post Independent classifieds hasn’t gotten any résumés.”That just speaks to the whole employment crisis in the valley,” she said. The Traveler might look to hire more part-time drivers as a possible solution to that problem, if full-time drivers can’t be found. Anyone who’s interested or knows someone who might be can contact Mildred Alsdorf, interim director of senior transportation, at 947-8464.Post Independent, Glenwood Springs Colorado CO
