Glenwood Springs Chamber looking for photos to celebrate city’s 125-year history

Glenwood Springs, CO Colorado

Get out the old scrapbook and get ready to share your memories of Glenwood Springs. The Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association is looking for Glenwood photos taken over the past 125 years. Photographers selected get bragging rights and the satisfaction of seeing their photo(s) and photo credit(s) in print when the 125 “best” photos are published in the 2010 Official Guide to Glenwood Springs.

The 2010 Official Guide will be the 125th Anniversary Collector’s Edition. More than 50,000 copies of the award-winning publication will come off the presses in the spring of 2010. At some time during the 125th anniversary celebration, all 125 photos will be on display in a special showing at the Glenwood Springs Community Center. A community slide show is also being planned.

Publishers are looking for photos that best represent our town from any decade of Glenwood’s history, from the 1880s to 2010. Subjects might include photos of the town’s buildings; landmarks; scenery; area wildlife; architecture; representative fashions from each decade; portraits of individuals, families and historic characters; special events; and favorite tourist attractions. All photos must be submitted by Jan. 25. Original photos, prints or scanned copies are acceptable.
