Glenwood Springs Eagles host Thanksgiving dinner
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” It is an event that has welcomed the community for years.
And for another Thanksgiving, the local Fraternal Order of Eagles chapter in Glenwood Springs is set to welcome the community to feast on the holiday’s traditional food.
The local chapter will host its Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at the group’s lodge, 312 Seventh St., in Glenwood Springs. The group is also looking for volunteers to help with the dinner. For more information, call the group at 945-5506 after 4 p.m.
Around 27 to 30 turkeys may be cooked for this year’s feast, said Lorraine Radford, 53, who has been with the club for more than 15 years.
“We get a lot of gratitude for us having the dinner, especially a lot this year because a lot of people have been getting laid off,” Radford said. “(The dinner) gives me a really good feeling. It is just wonderful.”
