Glenwood Springs gas prices drop slightly

The price of regular gasoline in Glenwood Springs dropped a penny to $1.28 per gallon this week, according to AAA of Colorado’s Weekly Gas Price Survey.

Of those cities reporting, Vail had the highest price for regular, self service gas at $1.42 per gallon, and Fort Collins had the lowest price at $1.10 per gallon.

Statewide, the average price was $1.17, and the nationwide price was $1.12.

Of the nine Colorado cities reporting, Colorado Springs and Denver saw increases of 8 cents and 7 cents respectively, while Durango and Pueblo saw decrease of 2 cents and 1 cent respectively.

Last February, gas prices in Glenwood Springs were $1.61. They leveled off in the $1.23 to $1.29 range starting last December.

The AAA said prices are expected to remain constant until the annual switch over from winter to summer grade fuel next month. Summer blends are more expensive than winter blends.
