Glenwood Springs High School homecoming events on Friday

GLENWOOD SPRINGS – Glenwood Springs High School senior and homecoming committee member Katie Waller is excited about homecoming week that kicked off Monday, and she wants to see the Glenwood community get excited, too.”People have always come to the football game, but this year we wanted more people to come to the parade and the tailgate so it’s not just the students,” Waller said. This year’s homecoming festivities kicked off on Monday for GSHS students, with spirit activities planned through Thursday at the school. But, come Friday events are organized for and open to the public. Events ranging from the powder puff football game Friday afternoon at Stubler Field where the GSHS junior girls will battle the senior girls for bragging rights. After the powder puff game is a homecoming parade, which will run down Colorado Avenue and end at the high school. Immediately after the parade, there will be a GSHS alumni tailgate party that will lead right up to kickoff for the homecoming game where the Demons face county rivals the Rifle Bears. In Waller’s opinion, the more community support the merrier.”We would really appreciate people’s support,” Waller said. “If people can come to any of these events that would be awesome because the more community support the better.”
