Editor’s note: The Glenwood Springs Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Warrant arrest: At 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 23, police were called to a residence in the 1200 block of Sprucewood Lane for a man who was intoxicated. Police learned that Michael Lawrence Murphy, 38, of Glenwood Springs, was wanted for failure to comply on an original charge of disorderly conduct. He was booked at the county jail on the warrant.
Warrant arrest: At 10:25 p.m. on Aug. 23, police arrested Brenda Sue Caywood, 52, of Glenwood Springs in the 2400 block of Bennett Court on a Garfield County warrant for theft.
Driving under the influence: At 1:22 a.m. on Aug. 24, police took a report of a possible drunk driver on I-70. The vehicle was stopped a short distance later for failing to drive in a single lane. Nicole Marie Vandoren, 33, of New Castle, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and weaving.
Warrant issued: At 8:50 a.m. on Aug. 24, police were contacted in reference to a forged check – theft valued at $238.53 – and identity theft in the 1500 block of Grand Avenue. The investigation provided information about a suspect and an arrest warrant was issued for Sebrina Syn Thumper Kelley, 41, of Silt, for fraud and identity theft.
Theft, harassment: At 10:41 a.m. on Aug. 24, police responded to a domestic incident at a residence in the 500 block of Eighth Street. Jesus Alberto Gonzalez, 32, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested for theft and harassment and was lodged at the county jail.
Open container, petty theft: At 2:36 p.m. on Aug. 24, police were dispatched to a business in the 1500 block of Grand Avenue for a theft call. Upon investigation, police arrested Joshua Ben Welling Trevino, 32, of Glenwood Springs, and booked him in the Garfield County Jail on charges of petty theft, open container, littering and drinking in public.
Open container: At 12:05 a.m. on Aug. 25, police observed a passenger in a vehicle drinking from alcoholic beverage. The vehicle was stopped and Thomas Lee Aragon, 53, of Westminster, was issued a summons for possession of an open container of alcohol.
