Editor’s note: The Glenwood Springs Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Petty theft: At 3:10 p.m. on Aug. 30, dispatch aired a call of a theft in the 100 block of Sixth Street where $127 in merchandise was allegedly taken. Police arrested Joseph Polzin, 61, of Houghton Lake, Mich., for petty theft and lodged him at the Garfield County Jail.

Harassment: At 5:12 p.m. on Aug. 30, police were called to a disturbance in the 600 block of Cowdin Drive. Pamela Hinojos, 20, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested for harassment and lodged at the Garfield County Jail.

Warrant arrest, controlled substance: At 11:26 p.m. on Aug. 30, police contacted two people inside a business in the 400 block of West First Street. Officers took two juvenile boys into custody and arrested three adults. Jessica Pierson, 18, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and an active warrant; Marc Daniel Merchant, 28, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and a violation of a restraining order; and Samantha Renee Reynolds, 20, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested for child abuse negligence, an outstanding warrant and underage drinking. The three adults were lodged in Garfield County Jail. The juveniles were issued summonses and released to their parents.
