Editor’s note: The Glenwood Springs Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Driving under the influence: At 10:48 p.m. on Sept. 4, police contacted a motorist for weaving in the 100 block of Grand Avenue. Yuran Ramon Chacon Pedregon, 22, of Glenwood Springs, was cited for suspicion of driving under the influence, failure to drive in single lane, and driving while his license was revoked.
Assault: At 6:10 p.m. on Sept. 5, police were advised of a domestic violence incident in the 400 block of Sprucewood Lane. A woman reported that her husband punched her in the face because she did not have dinner ready for him. Alvaro Perez-Ochoa, 40, of Glenwood Springs, was lodged in jail for assault and domestic violence and the woman was taken to the hospital for stitches.
Open container: At 7:15 p.m. on Sept. 5, police contacted a man drinking liquor in the 2300 block of S. Glen Avenue. Douglas James Nielsen, 53, of Steamboat Springs, was issued a summons for open container.
Driving under the influence: At 2:09 a.m. on Sept. 6, police stopped a motorist for straddling two lanes and for going straight through a turn only lane in the 500 block of Pine Street. Jeremy Lee Gonzales, 35, of Arvada, was cited for weaving and suspicion of driving under the influence and released to a sober party.
Illegal camping: At 7:48 a.m. on Sept. 6, police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Grand Avenue for a man sleeping on the ground. Gregg Thomas Hendrix, 44, of Glenwood Springs, was taken to the Garfield County Jail on charges of illegal camping and littering.
Warrant arrest: At 2:53 p.m. on Sept. 8, Florence Gadzinski, 40, of Glenwood Springs, turned herself in on a warrant to the Glenwood Springs Police Department.
Assault, menacing: At 6:35 p.m. on Sept. 8, police were called to a residence in the 2400 block of Grand Avenue for an assault that occurred with weapons. George Muro Jr., 25, of Glenwood Springs was arrested for second-degree assault and menacing. Michael Angelo Muro, 19, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested for an outstanding warrant and reckless endangerment. Both men were booked at the county jail.
Tampering, obstructing police: At 2:10 a.m. on Sept. 9, police observed a man blocking the road near the Grand Avenue wing street. Jacob Scott Baker, 26, of Glenwood Springs, refused to provide identification and was placed under arrest for criminal tampering. A woman with him, Susan Michelle Stein, 23, of Denver, interfered with the arrest of Baker. After numerous verbal warnings to back away from the officer, Stein was arrested for obstructing a police officer. Both were lodged at the Garfield County Jail.
