Editor’s note: The Glenwood Springs, Colo., Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Forgery, warrant arrest: A woman reported on May 27 that someone had forged her name on the title of an automobile she owned and then sold the vehicle. An investigation revealed that the woman’s ex-husband had developed a fictitious identification with several forged documents. The woman also reported that he threatened her with retaliation for going to police. Ismael Mondragon-Ruiz, 33, of Glenwood Springs was arrested and jailed on suspicion of possession of a forged document, criminal impersonation and intimidation of a witness, and on a $1,500 warrant from Garfield County for failure to comply on an earlier assault case.

Menacing: Officers responded to a call about a man trying to kick in a door at the Ponderosa Lodge in West Glenwood at 10 p.m. on May 29. They later apprehended Juan Manuel Alaniz-Ramos, 25, of Glenwood Springs and arrested him on suspicion of criminal mischief, menacing, harassment, trespass, criminal impersonation and violation of a restraining order.

Trespass: An officer on foot patrol walking through the Hotel Colorado at 2:40 a.m. on May 30 found a transient in the bathroom. Steven Jesse Schreiner, 25, of Glenwood Springs was arrested on suspicion of trespass, and was cited for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Illegal camping: Officers were called to a report of a man camping on private property at the old limestone quarry on Traver Trail at 8 p.m. on May 30. Keith Richard Wayne, 49, of Phoenix, Ariz., was arrested on suspicion of illegal camping and littering, and for resisting arrest when officers took him into custody.

Driving under the influence: Officers received a citizen report of a suspected drunk driver, and stopped a motorist in the 800 block of Grand Avenue at 11 p.m. on May 30. Angel Rose Argueta, 21, of Glenwood Springs was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving without a valid license, and was later summonsed and released.

Menacing: Officers contacted a man at 2:45 p.m. on June 1 regarding text messages he had been sending to a female co-worker, after she had asked him to stop contacting her. Joshua Benjamin Trevino, 31, of New Castle was cited for menacing and harassment.

Driving under the influence: Officers stopped a vehicle for failing to drive in a single lane on West Midland Avenue at 8:16 p.m. June 1. They arrested Daniel Gordon Gustafson, 55, of Glenwood Springs on suspicion of possession of less than two ounces of marijuana, driving under the influence and an unsafe lane change. He was released on a summons. At 11 p.m. that evening, officers stopped him again for failing to drive in a single lane on Highway 6. This time he was arrested and lodged in the county jail for driving under the influence.

Assault: Offers were called to a fight at the Bayou Restaurant at 11:50 p.m. on June 1. They arrested Philip Allen Plantz, 31, of Glenwood Springs on suspicion of assault, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged at the county jail.

Driving while ability impaired: An officer stopped a motorist for speeding on Grand Avenue at 11 p.m. on June 2. Jude Sydney Boyne, 59, of Falls Church, Va., was cited for driving while ability impaired and speeding 10 mph over the limit and released to a sober party.

Driving under the influence: An officer stopped a motorist for a defective tail light on Grand Avenue at 2 a.m. on June 3. Fabian Salvidrez, 21, of Carbondale, was cited for driving under the influence and having a defective tail light.

Dog at large: Katlyn Wynona Majkut, 20, of Glenwood Springs was cited for allowing her dog to run at large. The dog was taken to the CARE shelter for its safety at 3:20 p.m. on June 3.

Harassment: Police were called to the Village Inn restaurant at 10:15 p.m. on June 3 after an intoxicated man left without paying his bill. The restaurant manager followed the man outside, and was threatened by the suspect. Officers found the man nearby and arrested him. Rory Matthew Martinez, 52, of Glenwood Springs was lodged in the county jail on suspicion of petty theft and harassment.

Violation of restraining order: Officers were called to a domestic disturbance in the 400 block of Latson Court at midnight on June 4. Dominick Cordova, 36, of Glenwood Springs was arrested on suspicion of violating a restraining order.

Driving under the influence, warrant arrest: An officer stopped a motorist on Midland Avenue for driving in the middle of the road at 2:15 a.m. on June 4. The officer arrested the driver, Raul Diaz, 38, of Glenwood Springs on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving without proof of insurance and failure to drive in the proper lane. A passenger in the car, Israel Castillo Paredes, 30, of Glenwood Springs was found to have an active arrest warrant and was also lodged at the county jail.

Warrant arrest: Officers located a man at a residence in the 1100 block of Bennett Avenue at 11 a.m. on June 4 who was wanted on a $250 warrant from Garfield County for failure to comply. They arrested Robert Lawrence Borkenhagen, 21, of Glenwood Springs on the warrant.

Warrant arrest: Kevin Paul Kuersten, 28, of Eagle River, Alaska, turned himself in at 11:45 a.m. June 4 on a $3,000 warrant from Garfield County for traffic offenses. He was lodged in the county jail.

Criminal mischief: Officers were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 3000 block of South Grand Avenue at 10 p.m. on June 4. They arrested Shaun Richard Reed, 32, of Glenwood Springs on suspicion of assault, criminal mischief and obstruction of telephone services. He was also found to be wanted on a no-bond warrant from Suffolk County, N.Y., for grand larceny. He was lodged in the county jail.

Driving under the influence: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of Grand Avenue at 10:30 p.m. on June 4. The vehicle had reportedly been involved in a hit-and-run incident in which other property was damaged. Fidel Manriquez-Hernandez, 36, of Glenwood Springs was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving without a valid license, driving without proof of insurance, careless driving, and failing to report an accident, and was lodged in the county jail. A passenger in the car, Noe Manriquez-Santoyo, 20, of Glenwood Springs, was cited for underage drinking.

Violation of restraining order: Officers were called to a disturbance in a parking lot in the 800 block of Cooper Avenue at midnight on June 5. They arrested Nathan Keith McKim, 30, of Glenwood Springs for violation of a court order barring him from drinking.

Driving under the influence: Officers stopped a motorist in the 1400 block of Grand Avenue at 2 a.m. on June 5 for weaving. Robert Rodriguez, 26, of Clifton was summoned and released for driving under the influence and failure to drive in a single lane.

Drug abuse: Officers were called to a residence in the 400 block of Sprucewood Lane to assist the ambulance crew with a drug overdose. Valarie Dee Argueta, 39, of Glenwood Springs was cited for illegal use of cocaine.

Drug abuse: Police were asked to take a man into custody on a parole situation at 10:40 a.m. on June 5. In locating the man, Jon T. Bauer, 34, of New Castle at the Highlands Trailer Park, he was found to be in possession of a controlled substance, and was lodged in the county jail on the parole hold and suspicion of possessing illegal drugs.

Warrant arrest: Paul Conal McCormick, 41, of Grand Junction turned himself in at 9:45 a.m. on June 6 on a $1,500 Garfield County warrant for failure to comply in an earlier drunk driving case. He was lodged at the county jail.

Vicious dog: Jusy Ann Springer, 67, of Glenwood Springs was cited for having a vicious dog after officers were called to the 500 block of Hyland Park Drive at 3:30 p.m. on June 6.

Theft: A woman reported at 9 p.m. on June 6 that a man had stolen a bicycle valued at $400 from her yard in the 900 block of Colorado Avenue. Scottie Lee Degrote, 18, of Glenwood Springs was cited for theft and trespass.

Warrant arrest: Officers were called to assist at a residence in the 900 block of Bennett Avenue at midnight on June 7. While there, they found Trina Rae Frederickson, 26, of Glenwood Springs was wanted on a $1,500 warrant from Moffat County for providing alcohol to minors. She was arrested and lodged at the county jail.

Warrant arrest: Officers were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1100 block of Cooper Avenue at 1:15 p.m. on June 8. They found Derek Oliver Ross, 31, of Glenwood Springs, who was wanted on warrants for criminal mischief, robbery and assault, and on a no-bond warrant from Lakewood for burglary. He was arrested and lodged at the county jail.

Warrant arrest: An officer was called to a commercial building in the 1000 block of Grand Avenue for a woman wanted on a variety of warrants. Sylvia Ann Gibson, 43, of New Castle was arrested on a $1,500 in Rio Blanco County warrants for failure to appear in a driving case, a false reporting case and a property crime case. She was lodged at the county jail.

Open container: An officer on foot patrol noticed two men sitting in a vehicle drinking beer in the 400 block of 22nd Street at 9:15 p.m. on June 9. Manuel Alberto Ruiz, 30, and Socorro Apodaca-Chavez, 55, both of Glenwood Springs, were both cited for open container violations.

Illegal dumping: A witness observed a code violation of a carpet cleaning truck dumping wastewater into a parking lot storm drain at 201 Centennial St. at 7 p.m. on May 10. The witness contacted police and showed photographs taken on a cell phone. Officers later contacted John Edward Rash, 65, of Glenwood Springs and cited him for illegal dumping.

Driving under the influence: Officers received a citizen report of a suspected drunk driver who had almost run another motorist off the roadway. Officers stopped a vehicle at 10:50 p.m. on June 10 at 5th and Pine in North Glenwood, and arrested Joel Refugio Olivas-Moya, 37, of Glenwood Springs on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving with an open container, no proof of insurance, careless driving, a missing tail light and failure to obtain a Colorado driver’s license within 30 days after moving to the state.

Underage drinking: Officers were called to a residence in the 2300 block of Bennett Avenue at 1 a.m. on June 11 on a loud party complaint. Officers found alcohol, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the home. A juvenile was arrested for underage drinking and later released. Jacob James Godfrey, 20, of Glenwood Springs was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Anthony Huckfeldt, 20, of Cheyenne, Wyo., was arrested on suspicion of underage drinking, possession of drug paraphernalia and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Alexandra Jolley, 18, of Glenwood Springs was arrested on suspicion of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Harassment: Officers were called to a fight at a residence in the 400 block of Latson Court at 10 p.m. on June 11. They arrested Michael Philip Liebelt, 42, of Grand Junction on suspicion of harassment, and arrested Nick Cordova, 59, of Glenwood Springs on suspicion of assault.

Loud music: Officers responded to a noise complaint at a home in the 2800 block of S. Grand Avenue on the evening of June 11. They warned the residents about playing music too loud. Later in the evening, officers were called back to the home on a second complaint, and cited Timothy Kwiatkowski, 41, of Glenwood Springs for a noise violation.
