Glenwood Springs police report
Editor’s note: The Glenwood Springs Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court. Driving under the influence: Police received a call about a vehicle parked in front of a business in the 1900 block of Grand Avenue at 4:15 a.m. on June 25. The vehicle was running, had its lights on and was damaged. Officers arrived to find a man passed out at the wheel. Cornelio Martinez, 33, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested for driving under the influence and failing to obtain a Colorado driver’s license within 30 days after moving to the state.Drinking in public: Officers were called to Axtell Park at 7 p.m. on June 25 regarding people drinking in the park. Lowell Charles Haag, 53, of Glenwood Springs, was cited for drinking in public and having an open container of alcohol.Harassment: Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 100 block of Third Street in North Glenwood at 2:25 a.m. on June 26. Angel Jacobo Garcia-Turbin, 26, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested for harassment and lodged at the county jail.Violation of court order: Officers spotted two individuals walking in the 900 block of Grand Avenue at 2:30 a.m. on June 26. David William Pease, 48, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested for violating a court order barring him from drinking and violating a restraining order preventing him for having contact with the person he was walking with.Driving under the influence: Officers stopped a motorist in the 1500 block of Grand Avenue at 3:50 a.m. on June 26 for a traffic violation. Daniel Flores-Games, 25, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving without proof of insurance, weaving and failing to obtain a Colorado driver’s license within 30 days after moving to the state.Trespass: Officers were called to a residence in the 700 block of Bennett Avenue at 9:45 a.m. on June 26 for a disturbance. Lizbeth Obregon, 34, of New Castle, was arrested on suspicion of felony trespass, harassment and theft and lodged at the county jail.Warrant arrest, open container: Officers spotted two men with open containers of alcohol at a bus stop in the 1400 block of Grand Avenue at 12:15 p.m. on June 26. David Joseph Kelly, 25, of Glenwood Springs, was found to be wanted on a $2,500 warrant for failure to comply and was arrested. The other man, Brett Dean Wiggins, 44, of Glenwood Springs, was cited for an open container.Assault: Police were called to a domestic fight at the Kum & Go Market in the 100 block of Sixth Street at 4:30 p.m. on June 26. Jeffrey Nevin Cole Kronowit, 24, of Basalt, allegedly bit his girlfriend on the cheek. He was arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of drug paraphernalia and lodged at the county jail.
