Editor’s note: The Glenwood Springs Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Warrant arrest, open container: Officers were informed about two men drinking in public at the north end of the Grand Avenue pedestrian bridge at 1 p.m. on Aug. 19. Kenneth Raymond Hustead, 57, of Glenwood Springs was cited for an open container. Randal William Mckenzie, 54, of Glenwood Springs was arrested on a $200 municipal court warrant for failure to appear in an earlier open container case, for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and for drinking in public.

Driving under the influence, marijuana: An officer stopped a motorist at 11 p.m. on Aug. 19 after observing the vehicle failing to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk at 27th and South Glen Avenue and then drive in the shoulder of the roadway for three blocks. The driver, Hunter Hillman Sharpe, 25, address unknown, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, careless driving, failure to yield to a pedestrian, driving without proof of insurance, driving while his license was revoked for a previous drunk driving violation and possession of less than two ounces of marijuana. A passenger in the vehicle, Laura Marie Hawley, 23, of Glenwood Springs was cited for possession of less than two ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
