Editor’s note: The Glenwood Springs police department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Criminal mischief: During a check of Two Rivers Park at 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 16, police saw five young men allegedly spraying graffiti on the park surfaces. Ticketed were Christopher John Marvin, 18, of Peyton, for underage drinking, possession of drug paraphernalia, damaging city property and criminal mischief; Cole Harrison Mentzer, 18, of Mount Laurel, N.J., for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, damaging city property and criminal mischief; Cooper Daniel Williams, 21, of Passport Hope, Md. and Derek Alan Stone, Jr., 22, of Aurora for drinking in public, damaging city property and criminal mischief; and Edward Gregory Tobin, 18, of Colorado Springs, for damaging city property and criminal mischief.

Prohibited sign: Aaron Mark Sifuentes, 39, of Glenwood Springs, was cited at 1 p.m. on Sept. 16 after police noticed a yard sale sign posted on a city light pole at 14th and Grand for more than a week.

Driving under the influence: Officers stopped a motorist for careless driving in the 500 block of Pine Street at 1 a.m. on Sept. 17. Joshua Russell Nichols, 26, of Arvada, was arrested for driving under the influence and careless driving.

Driving under the influence: Officers observed a vehicle traveling the wrong way on a city street, and then spotted the vehicle stopped in the roadway at Eighth and Cowdin. The driver, Brian Paul Fajardo, 28, of New Castle, was found standing by a fence. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and released on a summons.

Fighting: Police were called to a fight at Seventh and Grand at 1:45 p.m. on Sept. 17. David Daniel Cain, 26, of Glenwood Springs and Thomas Warran Ray, 45, of Glenwood Springs were both arrested for fighting and lodged at the county jail.

Fighting: Officers were called to a fight near the Seventh Street Bridge at 7:44 p.m. on Sept. 17. Daniel Jonathan Stoicich, 25, of Concord, Calif., was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and fighting. Jeremy Brockway, 33, and Joshua Michael Hallenbeck, 20, of Glenwood Springs were cited for fighting.

Violation of restraining order: Officers observed a scuffle outside a bar in the 900 block of Grand Avenue at 1:45 a.m. on Sept. 18. Most parties fled, but one man, Marco Antonio Marquez Chavira, 25, of New Castle, was found to be drinking in violation of a court order and placed under arrest.
