Editor’s note: The Glenwood Springs Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.

Driving under the influence: Police stopped a motorist at 1:40 a.m. on Feb. 7 in the 700 block of Colorado Avenue for failing to signal for a turn. Officers detected signs of impairment on the driver. Joseph Lee Miller, 42, of Montrose, was issued a summons for suspicion of DUI.

Warrant arrest: Police contacted a man during a traffic stop for a driving violation. Upon contact with dispatch, it was relayed that the man had an outstanding Glenwood Springs warrant. Derek Alan Stone Jr., 23, of Aurora, was arrested and lodged at the Garfield County Jail for the warrant.



Harassment: Police were dispatched at 3:25 p.m. on Feb. 9 to a residence in the 2700 block of Midland Avenue for a report of domestic violence. An arrest warrant was issued for Jose Maria Madrid-Trevizo, 27, of Glenwood Springs, for harassment.

Harassment: Police were dispatched to a report of a possible domestic disturbance at 1:53 a.m. on Feb. 8 in the 50000 block of Highway 6, where the suspect was on a local roadway and the victim was leaving a residence. After further investigation, officers arrested Omar Marquez, 34, of Glenwood Springs, on suspicion of harassment and lodged him at the Garfield County Jail.



Driving under the influence, possession of cocaine: At 10:54 a.m. on Feb. 8, police contacted a vehicle reported as a possible drunk driver on Interstate 70. After investigation, Jorge Luis Burciaga-Bustillos, 43, of Aurora, was arrested for DUI, driving with a revoked license, possession of a forged instrument, possession of cocaine and failure to provide proof of insurance upon request. Burciaga-Bustillos was lodged in Garfield County Jail.

Warrant arrest: Police were advised of a woman at the courthouse wanting to turn herself in on an arrest warrant at 2 p.m. on Feb. 8. Joanna Sandoval, 20, of Glenwood Springs, was lodged at the Garfield County Jail without incident.

Possession: At 1:43 a.m. on Feb. 9, police were standing on the sidewalk in the 900 block of Grand Avenue when a man walked by and dropped marijuana on the ground right in front of them. Charles Nicholas Pickett, 21, of Glenwood Springs, was issued a summons for possession of less than two ounces of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Warrant arrest: Police were dispatched to a bail bondsman’s office in the 200 block of Seventh Street at 11:36 a.m. on Feb. 9 for a report of a man turning himself in on an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The officer confirmed the man had a Weld County warrant. Keagan Fischer, 21, of Glenwood Springs, was placed under arrest and lodged at the Garfield County Jail.
