Glenwood Springs’ Valley View Hospital shows off Acute Care Unit addition

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Valley View Hospital staff and administration are holding an open house to celebrate the opening of its newly constructed Acute Care Unit.

The new ACU is 25,000 square feet of space with 33 private patient rooms and three larger family-centered rooms. Some of the private rooms are decorated to improve the patients’ experience at the hospital by making it feel more like a hotel room than a hospital room, including six rooms with fireplaces.

The new unit also has three family rooms, one in each wing, to provide families adequate and comfortable space to relax while they are visiting patients at the hospital.

The entire area has one main nurses station and six substations throughout the unit. Each of the patient rooms has a flat-panel television, wireless Internet access and available room service dining.

Glenwood Springs and Rifle branches of American National Bank recently donated $100,000 to VVH, in part to help with the furnishing of two of the family rooms.

American National Bank is owned by the Sturm Financial Group based in Denver and has banks throughout Colorado and Wyoming.
